Northwestern – Delay Flare Slip

The Northwestern Wildcats, lead by Chris Collins, burn the defense with this simple set early in their season. The screener recognized his defender was overplaying the flare screen and slipped to the basket. Here, the exchange action on the weak side pulled the help defense out of the lane which gave the screener an uncontested layup. This simple delay flare action was successful because the offense read the defense and made them wrong.
