Phoenix Suns – Cross Spain

The “Spain” action is frequently used in professional and collegiate basketball. The Phoenix Suns, coached by Monty Williams, use the Spain screen here to create multiple scoring options. The ball-handler picks a side and the opposite side post player comes to set a ball screen. As soon as the screener rolls, the ball-handler attacks the rim while the opposite post player pops to the top of the key. In this case, the ball-handler was able to get to the rim and finish for an easy two!
